Christian’s Bangkok Travel Guide

Whether it’s your first time in Bangkok or your fifth, here are a few of my favorite spots, things to do, and tips to make the most of the trip.

The Can’t Miss List

Must-Do Experiences

The Grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaew
You can’t come to Bangkok and not see this. Super detailed, beautiful, and one of the coolest spots in the city.

ICONSIAM
Honestly one of the craziest malls I’ve ever been to. Great food, shopping, river views, and a good place to cool off for a few hours.

Bangkok Shopping Malls
Bangkok malls are on another level. Whether you want luxury shopping, random finds, or just good food, places like Siam Paragon, CentralWorld, and MBK are worth checking out.

King Power Mahanakhon SkyWalk
Best views in Bangkok, especially around sunset. The glass floor is terrifying but worth it.

Rooftop Bars
Bangkok rooftop bars are a must. Good drinks, insane skyline views, and one of the best ways to spend a night in the city.

Thai Massages
Get the massage. Trust me. They’re everywhere, super affordable, and the perfect reset after walking around Bangkok all day.

Where to Eat (this is the best part)

Street Food
Street food is everywhere in Bangkok, especially at the night markets. Cheap, fast, and somehow always insanely good. Half the fun is just walking around and trying random things.

Malls
Bangkok malls are actually insane. You can find everything from really nice restaurants to giant food courts and cafes. Perfect if you want options — or if you need a break from the heat.

Chinatown
One of my favorite places to eat in Bangkok. The street food, seafood, desserts, and overall chaos somehow all work perfectly together.

K. Panich Sticky Rice
Just trust me.

7/11 Runs
You’ll end up going way more than you expect. Toasties, snacks, drinks, random late-night runs… Thai 7/11s are elite.

How to Make It a Bigger Trip

Add Japan or South Korea
If you’re already flying all the way to Asia, you might as well make the most of it. Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, and Busan are all easy add-ons from Bangkok.

Explore More of Thailand
Bangkok is just the start. Chiang Mai has a slower, more relaxed vibe, while Phuket and the islands are perfect if you want beaches and resort days.

Island Hopping
There are so many islands to choose from depending on the vibe you want. Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Tao, and Koh Phangan are some of the more popular ones — and all worth looking into.
